The Boot Camp Results!

I finished boot camp and literally left for vacation ;)
I did not exercise a great amount....and need to get back on the better eating bandwagon now!

Anyhoo - here are the results!
7 inches lost, 6 pounds lost and 3.4% body fat lost. Pretty darn good if I say so myself. I am sure the past week did not help, but I am looking forward not back!

Don't we look cute

I saw this around Mother's Day and just fell in love with it. I found it on clearance recently and was so excited! I brought it home and Bean just loved it. She said there is Mommy, Daddy and me! Of course she did note that Mommy had a hair cut...so the hair on the Mommy is not completely accurate. My little girl - so detail oriented!

Saving at CVS

I went to CVS yesterday and saved $40.69. I paid $4.89 out of pocket(after coupons and ECB) and earned another $15 in ECB! They were out of a few things I wanted to get - but overall I am very pleased with my purchases. The sugar free gum was on clearance for $.25 a pack. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Bean "isms"

These are some funny expressions from Bean over the past week or so:

"Do you want me to shine some light on the situation?" (meaning with a flash light)

"I love coco-dots!" (meaning polka dots)

"I don't need any help, I have it under control."

"Mommy your shadow is enormous." (LOL as we are walking into the gym)

She has the funniest expressions right now - and her vocabulary continues to amaze me!

Boot Camp Update

Well I have started week three in the boot camp and am plugging along. I was so sore last night I could barely move. I have learned so much about exercise and fitness. Muscles that lay dormant my entire life are being woken up - albeit it with some fuss.

Last night we did something called "lines". I asked what those were - and the trainer said, you know, like you did in P.E. at school. Uh - not me, cause by high school I had the ultimate out for P.E. - cause I was cool like that and in the band!...Let me digress and tell you my disdain for P.E. started early when we were forced to wear these hideous orange and tan hawk (our mascot) gym outfits. Even as a first grader, I had the keen fashion sense to know that there was nothing fabulous about these outfits....But back to the topic, lines are these horrible exercises that require you to run & touch lines in the parking lot with your hand, run back and repeat for what seems like an eternity. Oh my Stars - these are painful! I feel proud of myself that I have stuck with it - cause during the first week, I wanted to quit every time. I sure hope that I can really stick with it - and get to a normal weight soon!

DC Chicken Salad!

I love love love Corner Bakery's DC Chicken Salad! But there are none near me...and eating out is so expensive. So I turned to my friend Google, and he did not fail me! I found a recipe, made it and it tasted just like it!
Hello my new found lunch friend. If you are interested - here is the linky! I also used light miracle whip and golden raisins in place of the currants. Let me know if you try it and how you like it!

Life Skills

Bean is so excited to show everyone her latest skill. I think she could audition for the next re-make of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - as Violet?? She loves her some gum (sugar free of course)!

Oh My Stars!

Well - I guess everything is being affected by the price of gas. My precious double bundle newspapers have gone up by $1.00 to $3.00 - Boo Hoo! I truly can't believe how expensive things are right now.
I generally always coupon shop, but needed a few ingredients today that I had no coupons on! Sticker Shock! Now I know why I stock up when stuff is cheap. I spent almost $6.00 cabbage? That is just crazy! I know we are all feeling the price crunch.
So today I offer a frugal tip. Utilize CVS and their Extra Care Bucks program! Learn it - Love it. This week is an excellent week to start. Look at the front page of the ad. Do you see what I see...Bounty and Charmin. We all need this right? On a side note -if going "Green" ever involves getting rid of toilet paper - I am so out. I must have toilet paper. Ok - back to the topic at hand.....Use the P&G coupons from this past Sunday - and earn yourself $10 in ECB to use next time. For more in depth explanations - go to moneysavingmom.com! Happy Shopping.
