Catch up and Happy Birthday!

Today my wonderful and amazing hubby celebrates his birthday! Happy Birthday Roon - I love you!
We have had an action packed week...full of remodeling bliss (HA HA) and cleaning frenzy. I will post more about that later!

I have also started my boot camp. My trainer is awesome, but quite frankly she scares me. I have to turn in a food journal. I came home that very night (cause I decided to start fresh the next day) and devoured six of the item below. I am telling a dear friend good-bye. In the words of James Blunt, "Good-bye my Lover, Good-Bye my friend!" Good-bye Double Stuff - I knew you so well and will love you. Perhaps we can be friends again when I am all fit and stuff....okay maybe only acquaintances! Ha LOL! But seriously why can't they make a good version of these without fat and stuff?

Shopping this week!

I was able to score some more great deals at CVS, Walgreen's and Tom Thumb. Total out of pocket for all these items was $2.67 and I will be sending in for a rebate on the Pert for $2.50 with Walgreen's, thus essentially just .17 cents. Those pennies are a working. I used coupons, Walgreen's Register Rewards and CVS ECB to bring my total out of pocket expense way down.

Weekend Re-cap!

We had a fun weekend - not too stressful but great visiting with some friends. Roon's great friend from high school, James, came into town and we got to visit with him and go out to one of our favorite fish places. We even got him liken the Wii. Saturday, Roon went fishing with a buddy, and had a great time, even though the fish count was low.
Later Saturday, we had a birthday party, which we all just hung out afterwards at and chilled. Isn't it nice to have friends and kids who all just get along ;) Sunday we had Church then went to Dickie's (kids eat free on Sunday's) and got to visit with some more great friends. All in all it was a great weekend.
Today we weighed in (we are back on the wagon again) and Roon lost 6.3 pounds in one week. Yep - I am happy for him, but listen to this. On Saturday he told me he ordered the healthy option at I-Hop, which was - get ready y'all - Chicken Fried Steak with multi-grain pancakes?? Huh - well I guess it works for him. I almost lost a pound - but hey - I will take it.
Bean had her dance pictures done today and worked the camera. The photographer came up to me and said "You know you have quite the ham - don't you?" Uh - yeah - I heard her in there when they were saying Smile and say "peaches" and she was like no I want to smile and say "oranges." Well - her personality shines through that is for sure.
I also finally won my first round of Wii tennis....I think it took like 15 try's. I am just struggling with that one.
We have decided to re-do all our bathrooms - so look for pictures soon. We are starting on the Bean's bathroom this weekend. The wall paper is falling off in sheets - so hopefully that will make for a quick start. We plan to texture the walls, paint, replace the sink fixture, lighting fixture, and re-decorate with fun accessories. Hope everyone is doing well. Oh - and I know some are curious - but we have yet to move forward with any decisions on IVF. We are praying and waiting for clarity.

The dinner that wasn't

Tonight, I was attempting to make BBQ sausage sandwiches, only I ran into a slight mishap. As I was opening up the package of sausage, the slick content of the meat, acted as some sort of launching goo and the sausage slingshoted out of my hands across the kitchen. The sausage mocked me - I tell you.
I know the dog saw her life flash before her eyes in slow motion as she saw the flavored link of goodness shoot across the room. Needless to say, I had to run fast to get the meat from the dog, as I surely don't need a $200 vet bill from the dog inhaling the sausage. Well it was a nice attempt - looks like it is leftovers tonight.

Shopping on the Cheap!

The first picture below is of my CVS shopping run yesterday. I spent .98 cents and earned $28.37 in Extra Care Bucks (ECB). I earned $10 for purchasing the two Hawaiian Tropic Lip Balms that were $1.99 each and $2.79 each for the oral hygiene kits. I also earned $10 from taking a CVS survey. I generally roll my ECB's into the next purchase so my out of pocket expense is low. I do hearty CVS!
The item below was free. Roon and I are trying to eat healthier thus I thought these keep fresh containers will come in handy for all my fruits and veggies. When I got to the checkout in rang up for $15.99 but was marked on the shelf for 50% off. I noticed that it rang up wrong and the checker went to price check. She came back with the tag and said it had expired but that they would honor it and since it rang up incorrectly the scan guarantee came into play - thus I got if for free. A lot of stores have a scan guarantee that if an item rings up incorrectly from the shelf price - you get it for free. In today's economy being a frugal shopper is becoming a must. I generally check my receipt (if possible I watch the items being scanned) before I leave the store for error's. I make sure to get error's resolved and don't hesitate to point out the scan guarantee. The guarantee is generally only good for the first like item...see your local store for details.

Seven-Pack - Woopie!

I love my Wii and I love Wii Bowling. Today I got seven strikes in a row and a new record. When you get six strikes in a row (believe me this has never happened before) it is called a six-pack. When you get seven it is seven-pack. I have to commemorate the moment on my blog of course. Look how happy my mii is! Mii's are the people that represent you on your Wii. See our picture below.

Our happy family of Mii's!

What a week for sales!

I feel like I got the Jason Bourne skills back in couponing world. Baby got coupon skills this week. I have had lots of fun with CVS and Walgreens amazing sales this week. Wowsa - i have a whole lotta Cascade now. Below is a picture of the amazing water deal I got at Tom Thumb. They have a deal if you buy three hallmark greeting cards - you get a free 12 pack of water. The cards are also buy 3 get one free...and the water is part of the Score Five Promo. So I bought 4 waters (got all free), 12 cards at .99 cents each (got three of those free), got a free candle holder for buying cards, and used a $5 coupon from the last Score 5 promo I did. I paid $4.89 for all these goodies and got another $5 coupon to use on my next order. Rock On!

Things that you wonder about...

I think I have world's biggest shedder of fur - my lovely dog. I wonder if it is possible to knit a sweater out of dog hair? Just kidding...but seriously...she is crazy shedding dog. Look at this from one dog brushing.

Roon...looks at the kitchen counter

and says "Ummmm...Are you trying to tell me something?"

I laughed and said no honey - no worries - I love you grey and all. I said CVS was telling me to buy this and get money back in Extra Care Bucks so it is better than free after rebate!
